The Federal Revenue reported that regularizing the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) to access the federal government's emergency aid program can be done on the agency's website at any time of the day. Find out more.
The clarification was made after citizens reported difficulties entering their CPF number in the Caixa - Auxílio Emergencial application, which will allow registration to receive the amount of R$600 to compensate for the loss of income resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the IRS, the application has received a large number of hits, a fact that may be making it difficult for beneficiaries to register. The agency advises that people continue trying to register throughout the day if it is not possible to do so on the first attempt.
If the problem persists, the citizen should check on the Receita Federal website if your CPF is in an irregular situation. If any pending issue is found, the problem can be resolved through the agency's services page, filling out the electronic form "Change of CPF Registration Data".
If the pending issue continues, the citizen must seek in-person assistance at a Federal Revenue agency.
The IRS also warns that, if the CPF is in good standing, but the user is unable to register on the application, the problem will not be related to the agency.
Caixa estimates that 20 million informal workers not registered in social programs will be able to download the application that will allow them to register to receive emergency basic income. The aid is R$600 or R$1,200 for single mothers.
